easter 1954
Having new clothes for Easter has deep roots in European customs. Special times called for special forms of dress and the shopping malls this weekend proved it. Stylish young girls in 1954 wore full-skirted floral dresses over stiff petticoats. Accessories included a flower bandeau, white gloves, and lace-trimmed anklets to go with the black patent maryjanes. Pop wore his Stetson and suit. The lovely background is the new concrete block fence at the house at New Deal.

  1. You didn't mention the short, short bangs that we all had with our perms!
