People are dying to get into the Sunset Hill Cemetery, but it appears that access is not easily obtained.  It is amusing to note the contrast between sign locations and perceived meanings.  The marker for a  narrow one-way lane can be interpreted differently.

old drum, the hunting dog

Lore has it that Warrensburg, Missouri is the origin of the saying "a man's best friend is his dog."  According to the story, the hunting dog Old Drum was shot by a neighbor who suspected him of killing sheep.  After many mistrials in 1870, the dispute ended up in the Missouri Supreme Court where the attorney eulogized Old Drum and won the plaintiff $50.  The statue of Old Drum was erected in 1950 and an additional memorial stands on the banks of Big Creek where the body was found.
