driver's seat

Farming is hard and not everybody can afford shiny new equipment.  This 1963 V-8 Chevrolet is  used for harvest and had a bed full of corn.  Fortunately the farmer is able to improvise and drive the truck.  BTW, the truck is about a couple of decades older than the farmer!

canutilla truck

Canutilla is a small community on the east bank of the Rio Grande, north of El Paso.  This truck, with four flat tires is somewhat representative of the neighborhood.  It's parked across the street from the Bailey Cemetery, a plot from the 1880s with over 1,500 gravesites.  Unfortunately, the afternoon shower kept me from exploring the cemetery.  And that brief rain?  It cooled the 100 degree day down to 96.

distillery dodge

Leave it to me to find a rusty, old truck in trendy Toronto. The Distillery District housed Canada's largest distillery from 1832 to 1991.  Then the brick and stone buildings were turned into shops, galleries and restaurants.  The leftover Dodge was kept as an industrial art installation.  The brick background is a contrast to the weedy pastures where I usually find old trucks!.

circles

Sometimes, out in the country, you know what you are seeing but you just don't understand why.  And not only was there one old truck atop the concrete pipe, there were three!
