blue ridge parkway

We won't attempt all 469 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway.  We're at the south end and only made a few miles of the gorgeous fall foliage.  On tomorrow to Sliding Rock and Looking Glass Falls.

when autumn leaves start to fall

But it certainly doesn't feel like fall here today with sunny skies and 89 degree temperatures!  In Elsie, Oregon however, it was fall with overcast skies and rain.  Camp 18 was a Plan B stop on the way to the Oregon coast because of the heavy rain.  We went in and had an impromptu lecture on lighting and our picnic lunch.  The rain lessened and we continued on to the coast.  Camp 18, named after the practice of numbering logging camps, and is located at milepost 18 on Highway 26.

so many red barns....too little time

Upstate New York is preparing for a gorgeous fall -  I was just there too early as the trees were just starting to turn.  The days were warm, the air was crisp, the sky was blue -- and I was indoors working!  This barn was adjacent to the Oswego Airport where we held training.  A couple of quick shots as we drove to class one morning was all the time I had.  Red barns were everywhere -- but too little time, too much traffic and other woes.  A great place to come back to.
